make modules_install problem

Hey guys, I've being tried to compile and install my first linux kernel recently. I ran into "modules_install" problem. Here is the story:

I followed Archlinux Wiki (ABS) and got stuck during boot, I tried to firgure out why so I checked package database
Code:
pacman -Ql package
, found that my kernel modules is far too less than the stock kernel.
I decompressd the initramfs, compare to the stock ramfs, Oops, I got no modules in there.
At last I tried traditional way to test
Code:
make INSTALL_MOD_PATH="path" modules_install
to find out if its the PKGBUILD script problem, but the result correspond PKGBUILD.

I tooks me 10m+ to compiler AND I used
Code:
make oldconfig
, and the directory was 800M large after I compiled. But it modules lacks basic filesystem support, what's going on man?

Any help is appreciated.

Did you copy over the config to your /boot ? Do "make install" once you verify you have the modules you want selected in your kernel. Everyone forgets to copy the kernel config over to /boot their first time. If you aren't sure about modules you can always try genkernel.

Man, different Distro has different way, Arch keeps config in /proc/config.gz, So I guess thats not a problem.
