Hello guys,
im new here. my name is Benni and have a little problem with a modified CP210x kernel modul.
I have changed a bit things (cute out a line) but this dont so terrible. This module compiled and i have the .ko file.
My problem is if i try it to includen (with the command "modprobe cp210x") in the kernel comes the error
modprobe: FATAL: Module cp210x not found
but i have the command completed with the tab, also why he dont can find the file?
u have a idea?
frame info's: compiled with the linux-4.0.7 kernel like the system on this must run
system is a arch-distribution in a vm
do u have more question? then go u can me help??? nice plz do it

basic question.. as modprobe looks in the module directory /lib/modules/`uname -r` for all the modules and other files, so u sure if ur moduel is present in proper path?

also does "modprobe -l | less" list you module? if no, then location of ur modules .ko isnt right.

sry for the late answer but i want to go sure that i have all do right
i have the .ko file in the /lib/modules/4.0.7-2-2-ARCH/ copies and used the command "modprobe -l | less" but it dont find the file
i have see over the command "modinfo" that intree not of "Y" is like the originale and the depends are not the same too
can this be the problem ?
