Linux font/file system/jpeg module

Hi everyone,

I am trying to learn how Linux works in platform level...
How the module linked with the kernel things like that.

I'm a bit curious on how Linux display a font. Starting from an input from a keyboard, how the system works to change it to fonts. I've checked the internet quite a while but I can't find the exact answer for it.

If anyone have any idea about this, can you all please teach me, or better yet, please tell me the related links or article about it.

Also trying to get info on FAT16/32 and jpeg/png.

Thanks in advance.

for understanding fonts, you need to find graphic books, i had a book named "Computer Graphics " which show you how a font painted in display screen. and fonts (bitmap/vector) are like other files in your computer and stored as same as others
for fat partition you need study Operation System Books
and for jpeg , png structure there are plenty of ref's u can use

Thank you for your input.

What I want to know is how Linux process them, it maybe different with Windows. What kind of value/module it should have in Linux. Is it different for each distribution?(eg. debian, rpm)

Do you have any links for these information?

Where should I go to get these information?

Thanks in advance.
