Kgdb over firewire

Hello,
I try to find some guide for setup kernel debugging over firewire. I found fireproxy on halobates.de/firewire but I was not successful with it. It seems that it is obsolete.
My host machine is Ubuntu, kernel 4.2 and target machine is Ubuntu kernel 3.19 .
I need to debug netfilter module, so problem is to setup debugging over ethernet and both machines has not serial port, but they has firewire.
Does somebody know where to find some guide or to provide some solution ?

Have you enabled firewire debugging in the kernel on both hosts? I guess you have looked in linux/Documentation/debugging-via-ohci1394.txt

I have never tried it so no first hand experience.

Yes I read that document debugging-via-ohci1394.txt, I played with attempts to debug kernel over firewire several days, no success. The document describes fireproxy utility, but when I found sources on http://halobates.de/fireproxy and tried to build, it was not functional, it seems to be not updated for newer kernels. My case is special - I cannot use kernel debugging over ethernet because debug target binary is netfilter module and I must debug network communication through network cards. Target machine is notebook without serial port so I buyed PCMCIA serial port and after some time spent on it I am able to debug it through serial port, but still I am wondering if there is not way how to debug kernel over firewire ? Does really nobody uses this way ? All information from forums I found was relating to fireproxy, does anybody knowns some other utility used for debugging over firewire ?

If firewire debugging is abandoned then look at the alternatives. What are other devs doing now?
