kernel version error

I'm building a driver for Intel's performance tool, Vtune. I was almost done executing all the instructions, but i came across with the following error. It seems like this is a problem arising from having 2 different names for the same kernel in the system. opensuse 10.2.

---------

dwarf1:/opt/intel/vtune/vdk/src # ./build-driver

.....

Kernel source directory: [ /usr/src/linux-2.6.18.8-0.1-default ] Y

checking for template makefile ... Makefile.in
checking for kernel headers ... /usr/src/linux-2.6.18.8-0.1-default/include
checking if C compiler is working ... yes
checking if C compiler supports anonymous structs and unions ... yes
checking architecture ... x86_64
checking kernel version ... 2.6.18-0.1-default
** **************************************************************************
** ERROR: current running kernel is version 2.6.18.8-0.1-default

...

dwarf1:/opt/intel/vtune/vdk/src # uname -r
2.6.18.8-0.1-default

dwarf1:/opt/intel/vtune/vdk/src # ls /usr/src/
build-dir linux-2.6.18.8-0.1-default linux-obj
Documentation linux-2.6.18.8-0.9 packages
linux linux-2.6.25.4 perfmon_patch
linux-2.6.18.8-0.10-obj linux-2.6.25.4.tar.bz2

---

What should i do? Thanks,

Caglar

VTune driver build, OpenSuSE 10.2

[QUOTE=caglarozdag;3213820]I'm building a driver for Intel's performance tool, Vtune. I was almost done executing all the instructions,

You leave considerable doubt about whether you did an fact follow instructions, in particular, those in vdk/source/doc/HOW_TO_BUILD...
regarding running
make cloneconfig;make prepare
in your kernel source directory
