kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt

I am using linux mint14. I tried to play a flash game on facebook but my screen went black with text on it. This is one of the things it said. kernel panic - not syncing: Fatal exception in interrupt then something about returning to text. My computer shuts down or freezes at times when I play the games also.

Good time to make an immediate full backup then go Christmas shopping for at least a new board ...

How much RAM do you have and how powerful is your CPU, in short, how powerful is your PC. A RAM or CPU upgrade my do the trick. Also, how big are the games that your trying to play? Whether you need a new computer or just an upgrade will depend on these factors.

Even so, "fatal exception in interrupt" means that an exception occurred within a first-level (or second-level?) interrupt handler ... and, to my way of thinking, that means that the motherboard is about to fry. (If it were a routine occurrence, the system wouldn't be running at all.) Maybe it's an edge-case e.g. a heat related issue; I don't know. I don't drive my computers that hard because I'm really not that into games. But I'd look at some hardware swaps soon.

My computer is a Gateway NV58c it has Intel® Core i3-330M/i3-350M processor (3 MB L3 cache, 2.13/2.26 GHz, 1066 MHz FSB, 35 W),supporting Intel® 64 architecture, Intel® Smart Cache* I got it a year ago. I am just playing flash games on facebook. Lately though it will crash even when playing MP3's and not even connected to the internet. It also has 4 GB of DDR3 1066 MHz memory.
