kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
 

Hi guys I have a problem I have tried installing windows operating systems and linux operating systems. With the windows operating systems (98, 2000, xp and Vista) they installed fine but would not load up. Now I have tried installing linux mandriva 2009. Again it installed fine but loading up I just cannot do it says a message of booting has failed or in safe mode waiiting for root device none to appear (timeout 1min). Then it says "kernel panic - not syncing: Attempted to kill init!
