kernel is rebooting while init 0


hi to you all
strange problem :
on fedora 7 i have compiled new kernel ( well not so new) 2.6.23
after a while ( it worked for a month or so ) while i am doing init 0 to shutdown the computer reboots
at the older kernel ( of cours i saved it) it shutting down correctly.
how wierd?!?!?!
i have tried to enter different parameters to the kernel in grub ( while booting) and i dont see any change.


anyone got any idea?

One: stop using 'init 0' to shutdown the machine. That is what the 'shutdown' command is for.

Review your grub configuration. Have you a fallback setting pointing to the older kernel?
