i'm wondering why the kernel (2.6.33) and it's modules always compile again from the beginning, even though everything was already compiled several times. i just made small changes, like unchecking or adding a module.
my command line is:
make bzImage && make modules && make modules_install && cp arch/x86/boot/bzImage
/boot/vmlinuz-2.6.33-phc-laz && cp System.map /boot/System.map-2.6.33-phc-laz &
& cp .config /boot/config-2.6.33-phc-laz
no "make clean" of course...
i'm using xubuntu, GNU Make 3.8.1, gcc 4.4.1
i didn't compile the linux kernel for a while, because it wasn't necessary. but now i want to compile a custom kernel for my xbmc-box, with a patch, that enables undervolting.
