INITIO 1622 SATA card driver needed

I'm looking for a driver for this card for Debian 2.6.8. I found 2.4 source online written by Andre Hedrick, but I can't find any updates for it or a way to contact him. So, I guess my question is where I could find out how to load this to my Debian sarge 2.6.8. Failing that, is there some set of guidelines somewhere that I could maybe learn how to do this myself? I've been away from Unix for 6 or 8 years, but I did write a couple of simple device drivers back in the day.
