HOWTO modify kernel

Hi,

I want to make a raid array using mdadm, but therefore I have to change my linux kernel so that it supports the GPI partition table.
I need to enable CONFIG_LBD and CONFIG_EFI_PARTITION and CONFIG_PARTITION_ADVANCED.

How can I do that?

En I assume that I need to recompile the kernel afterwards... but how can this be done?

Thanks in advance!

You could read the Ubuntu Kernel Compile documentation.

Another doc I find very good is 'Linux kernel in a nutshell' by Greg Kroah-Hartman. I think it's available as a freely downlodable pdf.
