how to log the messages at boot time

hi,

well i'm experimenting with the kernel and it looks like i need to closely examine that boot messages that scroll down the screen when the kernel boots.

problem is you can't "scroll" up or down to see the ones that passed , so how i can log them for later review ?

this question applies for both situations in a real machine as well as in an emulator such as bochs.

thanx in advance

cheers
