How do i know the linux kernel is booted off the disk of a cd ?

All,
I like to find out if the linux kernel is booted from the hardisk installation or from a boot CD. How do I find that out ? Appreciate feedback.

Thanks,

It's booted from your hard drive, except if you have a linux live CD in your drive and your BIOS boots from CD before the hard drive, then the kernel is booted from CD.

fdisk -l should give you all the info you need.
