grub


hi,
i have install win7 after fedora. my grub has been removed. i have tried to restore by live cd of ubuntu but it didn't work. i have tried this.

first there was no grub so i install grub by "sudo apt-get install grub"
then in grub shell whatever i typed nothing works. it shows command not found etc..etc.


so please tell me some other method if any. or tell me some method so that i can restore my grub

Please search next time before you start posting threads. This topic is discussed all over the internet, and also on these forums as well.

To add to my post via edit - It is well recommended to install a linux distribution AFTER installing Microsoft Windows OS's.

Type grub-install /dev/sda and reboot.

I would say that over 90% of the questions asked at LQ have been solved and the solution is out there somewhere. If that is the case and everyone would search and understand what they read then LQ would be out of business and I would not have anything to read every day.

I know. I just like to put it out there to try to get it in people's heads. The times I normally troll these forums (joking....) is very late at night due to my schedule, and that's when a lot of people get on and don't even think about searching at all. They just create new threads, even if it's about changing a password, etc, stuff like that. It's never personal

And about what you said, I know exactly what you mean
