Extra "ACK" at server side in TCP/IP socket communication

Hi,

Can you please help me to understand why there is an extra ACK (with len=0) from server (CentosOS 6.6 - linux 2.6.32) during the TCP socket communication? Is it possible to avoid the extra ACK? (avoid unnecessary overhead)?

More info about problem is posted at:https://ask.wireshark.org/questions/...-communication

Our scenario: small packets communication (GSM data)

Looking solution as: Delayed acknowledgements, Nagle's algotrithm etc in TCP/IP stack tuning in kernel. Delay ack is restricted to 200ms in kernel level and unable to find a way to increase the value. As per RFC 1122, tcp delay_ack can be increased to 500ms. This is the show stopper now. If it can be increased, i think problem can be resolved. Also we need to know if there is any alternative solution for this problem.

Thanks, Saty
