Error 15: File not found


hi ,

when I poweron my system I get the following error,
Error 15: File not found.

tried with following things

1> went to rescue environment mounted the file system to chroot /mnt/sysimage.

2> in chroot /mnt/sysimage tried with below commands

#blkid
#fsck -y /path of the filesystem recovery
#fsck -y /dev/sda1
#exit

the above two procedures are unsucessfull can you help me some other procedure to get grub file.

I suggest you boot from an install cd or live cd. Error 15 means it hasn't found the kernel, or the initrd, the other messages should tell you. info grub, while not being your friend, actually has hidden in there most of the information you will need. Unfortunately , it's hidden among a lot of verbiage you won't need. Persevere, or get more speciic and post fdisk -l output, the location of grub/, the kernel, and so forth.
