Decision for tool chain

I am developing tool chain for (LFS)linux from scratch (2.6 kernel).
I want to know what are other compatible package versions for gcc 4.2.1 in this toolchain

1. This belongs in the LFS sub-forum.
2. I don't understand what you are asking !!

Who knows what is compatible and what isn't. The LFS book says that the set of application versions they have noted down will work, if you try something else it might probably work but don't come crying if it doesn't. so go try it out and enjoy!
