Compiling error with grsecurity

Hi everyone,

Been trying to compile linux kernel 2.6.32.43 with grsec. 2.2.2, and after 'make menuconfig', when I try to compile it, at a certain point I get this error:

Code:
  SYSMAP .tmp_System.map
  CC arch/x86/boot/a20.o
cc1: error: unrecognized command line option "-fplugin-arg-constify_plugin-no-constify"
make[1]: *** [arch/x86/boot/a20.o] Error 1
make: *** [bzImage] Error 2
filipe@BOX4:/usr/src/linux$
At the moment I'm running kernel 2.6.26-2-686 on debian.

What is wrong?

Thanks,
Fill

Only reference I can find (apart from trawling GRSecurity CVS if it even exists) is grsecurity.net/test/pax-linux-2.6.39.3-test28.patch which points to a PAX patch for more recent than yours kernel 2.6.39.3... Wrt supported Debian kernels you could try http://packages.debian.org/search?su...rds=grsecurity or http://kernelsec.cr0.org/ ?

Hi,

This should have been fixed in a patch released yesterday afternoon. It only affected the stable patch (the compilation error was inherited from PaX). If you have a patch newer than grsecurity-2.2.2-2.6.32.43-201108071948.patch and still experience the problem, please let me know.

BTW I happened to find this post by accident: in the future you'd have better luck getting support for grsecurity-related issues from the various official channels we have: https://grsecurity.net/support.php

Thanks,
-Brad

Hi,

Thanks for both answers. The new patch released yesterday solved this problem, I didn't get any compiling error (untill now, it's still compiling anyway...)

spender, I was about to go and post this in grsecurity forum / community, and that's where I will look for help in the future. I see you registered just to reply in this post, that was very nice and I really appreciate your help!

Once again, thanks.

Best regards,
Fill
