Exclamation compiling 2.6 kernel for pxa255

what other files are required to compile 2.6 kernel apart from main source code and patch for pxa 255 based board.

though I tried compiling the 2.6 kernel supplied by the vendor its
giving a error related to jffs2 filesystem. The message was like this

jffs2_scan_eraseblock(): Magic bitmask 0x1985 not found at 0x01b000b8: 0x7fff idjffs2_scan_eraseblock(): Magic bitmask 0x1985 not found at 0x01b000bc: 0xfdff idFurther such events for this erase block will not be printed
Empty flash at 0x01b000c0 ends at 0x01b001c4
Empty flash at 0x01b001c8 ends at 0x01b001cc
...

and this message goes on continiously.

before this i had compiled 2.4 kernel sucessfully, so I am sure its not a board problem.
Please I am really stuck with this thing.
