basically suse will do some changes to the kernel source. So the answer is they are difference. So, what normally I do is:-
1. Install kernel, kernel source, ieee80211*
2. perform system update (it will update your kernel, kernel-source and etc)
3. the install ndiswrapper.
*Please don't use custom kernel, it will give you headache if you not familiar it (Unless you want to improve your skill, computer performance, or make some changes on the kernel)
