Question can't install driver r1000

i've installed elive on my notebook (asus a8jc). now want install the network driver. i downloaded the driver from the reatltek website. but when want to install the driver i get an error:

root@spirou[/data/temp/r1000_v1.04] make clean modules
make -C src/ clean
make[1]: Entering directory `/data/temp/r1000_v1.04/src'
rm -f *.o *.ko *~ core* .dep* .*.d .*.cmd *.mod.c *.a *.s .*.flags
make[1]: Leaving directory `/data/temp/r1000_v1.04/src'
make -C src/ modules
make[1]: Entering directory `/data/temp/r1000_v1.04/src'
make -C /lib/modules/2.6.15/build SUBDIRS=/data/temp/r1000_v1.04/src modules
make[2]: Entering directory `/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.15'
make[2]: *** No rule to make target 'modules'. stop.
make[2]: Leaving directory `/usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.15'
make[1] *** [modules] error 2
make[1]: Leaving directory `/data/temp/r1000_v1.04/src'
make *** [modules] error 2

/lib/modules/2.6.15/build is a link to /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.15.
the directory /usr/src/kernel-source-2.6.15 is empty. is that ok? aptitude says the kernel-source is installed.

No this is not correct. You need the kernel sources. You can find it at kernel.org or grom another source. You need it to build the module.
