Can't find my modules


Hi,
There are fs/open.c and fs/read_write.c modules in my kernel source.Bur after compiling I can't find my modules.Where are they?They are open.ko and read_write.ko,aren't they?

How do you know they're supposed to be modules? Why aren't they built into the kernel?

How do you mean? If you want to edit the source, then obviously you can but you'll need to recompile the kernel.

Thanks.One more question.If I add printk("my_message"); into sys_open() in open.c everytime when system call "open" is executed it will print message in /var/log/messages,right?
