2.6.25.3-18.fc9.i686 has been a challenge but

2.6.25.4-30.fc9.i686 hangs just after boot message

"Bluetooth service started"

I waited several minutes and no response

Plenty of problems in 2.6.25.3-18.fc9.i686!

Try booting with your previous kernel, selecting it at the bootsplash menu. Can you be more specific about the issues? If you post some more info, maybe someone can help you out.

This has happened in the past and I simply wait for another kernel!

Did you try deactivating the bluetooth services? Did you check on bugzilla wheather it is a known issue?

My new kernel also hangs - my new grub.conf specifies:
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.25.4-30.fc9.i686 ro root=/dev/dm-0
as the boot path and the new kernel says this path is invalid. My old kernel, which still boots fine, boots to:
kernel /vmlinuz-2.6.25.3-18.fc9.i686 ro root=UUID=d71ba8f9-3dbd-4f90-b611-cec48d0c92e4

Should I be able to switch the "ro root=" specification in grub.conf, between the two kernels, without doing any harm ?

6/10/2008 - I am now able to boot to my new kernel because I did a complete install from the dvd, not just an upgrade. I kept a copy of my old rpm packages (/var/log/rpmpkgs) in my root directory as rpmpkgs.2008.06.09 and then did:

diff /var/log/rpmpkgs rpmpkgs.2008.06.09 > rpm-diff.txt

to find which packages were missing on my new installation.

After moving to 2.6.25.4-30.fc9.i686 kernel I've got another problem: wifi link quality reported by the iwconfig was randomly changing from approx 5/100 to 30/100 though I'm sitting near (2-3m) the router. Running Fedora with the old 2.6.25-14.fc9.i686 kernel solved this problem and I'm again having 100% link quality. So I guess I should wait for the new kernel.
