So Fedora Core 6 was released recently, and since it came with the 2.6.18 version of the kernel, it didn't include the Areca 1220 driver. (arcmsr.ko)
No problem, I thought, I'll just create a drivers disk... So I loaded FC6 on in a VMWare VM, downloaded the drivers from:
ftp://60.248.88.208/RaidCards/AP_Dri...1.20.0X.13.zip
extracted, compiled, and copied the arcmsr.ko file onto a floppy.
When I attempt to insmod it on the other computer (Alt-F2 to get to the command prompt during an install) I'm getting this error:
Verify ELF error [sec 23] (assertion 184)
Module failed ELF checks
Does anyone have a clue as to what's going on here? `uname -r` and `uname -m` match on both the machine I'm installing on as well as the VM where I compiled the driver.
