Any good references for starters in kernel building?

hi, i was wondering if there was any good website, guide, book and/or any informative source anyone would recommend to a first-timer in customizing and compiling Linux Kernel.

I'm not being a d*ck here, but everyone posts new threads about topics you can easily find by searching on the web....
