Adding a ".c" source code file name to the Kernel's Makefile.

Hi:

I have just entered the world of Kernel modification, and I am going through "Operating Systems Concepts" by Silberschatz, Galvin and Gagne, one of the projects in in the book is to add a basic system call to the kernel, anyway the file has been written and all that's left to do is, to add the filename to the makefile, but I looked in the Makefile in /usr/src/linux-source-2.6.27/kernel (which is where the file is present) and i am not quite sure where to begin to add the .c file.

Thanks for your time.

Could this be helpful? http://www.ravnborg.org/kbuild/makefiles.html

If that doesn't work, then certainly something else from this page will be what you're looking for.

Thanks very much for the link!

I realize this is probably the wrong board (a question about make really and not the kernel!)
