ACPI Error (evevent-....): No installed hander for fixed event
Hya,
My penguin (Debian, etch/lenny) says (dmesg and syslog) Code:
ACPI Error (evevent-0314): No installed handler for fixed event [00000000] [20060707] Depending on the version of the kernel, evevent-0314 or evevent-0305 and date is different. (I tried 2.6.15, 2.6.[17-22]) Is this message related to non-functioning USB and/or eth0? https://answers.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+question/2217 And I see this message before NETDEV WATCHDOG:eth0 transmit timed out. Then network dies. http://www.linuxquestions.org/questi...d.php?t=492159 I appreciate any information. Happy Penguins! |
Hya
I am tracing kernel source, The function, acpi_ev_fixed_event_dispatch in drivers/acpi/events/evevent.c, issues this message (when handler does not exist) and seems to disable the offending event for further interrupts. So, I do not understand often why I am getting this message more than twice. Any information will be appreciated. Happy Penguins! |
Hya,
I just found that hibernation does not work either. A lot of message comes but it is impossible to redirect to file. Following is just a part of messages. Code:
ACPI Error (evxfevnt-0386): Could not disable PowerButton events [20060707] Any input will be appreciated. Happy Penguins! |
Hya,
Apology. My post yesterday, about hibernation and ACPI error: It was my mistake, my kernel did not have suspend option on. Hibernation works, (not quite with 2.6.20.11 kernel, it does not power off until I hit return key, 2.6.22.5 works well) Still these errors show. Happy Penguins! edit: 2.6.22 kernel works fine. |
Hya,
I installed FreeBSD 6.2. It also says Code:
ACPI-0370: *** Error: No installed hander for fixed event |
