zte usb modem not detected on 2.6.23.1 kernel

hey , ,i hav a got a zte usb data card to connect to internet . with reliance communications, while i was using it on fc6 default kernel , i was able to query it on /dev/ttyS0 , but when i updated the kernel to 2.6.23.1 , its not being detected.

even i used the config file of the previous kernel while compiling new kernel.

i m running on a dell inspiron 1520 laptop.

So trace back what you did to make it work in your previous kernel.

If you want people to help with this you have to provide more information than just saying

Post the proper and complete product name, chipset used, manufacturer info, tech doc links etc, etc.
