You have put 'glx' in it as well, right? I'd show you part or the whole of my XF86Config file so you could check, but I'm at school on a very crappy Windows box right now.

(all problems have been underlined)

Code:
1376 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.200 FPS
1376 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.200 FPS
1399 frames in 5.0 seconds = 279.800 FPS
1378 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.600 FPS
1380 frames in 5.0 seconds = 276.000 FPS
1333 frames in 5.0 seconds = 266.600 FPS
1365 frames in 5.0 seconds = 273.000 FPS
1391 frames in 5.0 seconds = 278.200 FPS
1385 frames in 5.0 seconds = 277.000 FPS
1368 frames in 5.0 seconds = 273.600 FPS
1373 frames in 5.0 seconds = 274.600 FPS
1360 frames in 5.0 seconds = 272.000 FPS
1383 frames in 5.0 seconds = 276.600 FPS
1406 frames in 5.0 seconds = 281.200 FPS
1372 frames in 5.0 seconds = 274.400 FPS
1368 frames in 5.0 seconds = 273.600 FPS
1368 frames in 5.0 seconds = 273.600 FPS

If that's any kind of modern card, you aren't running accelerated...

Check if glx is being loaded in the XFree86Config file. Also, chekc the setting for agp in the driver's agp setting. If you are using AGPgart, it should be a 2 I think...

i have added this option to my x config, but as you can see nothing has changed,
agpart is build direct into my kernel.

Code:
1204 frames in 5.0 seconds = 240.800 FPS
1380 frames in 5.0 seconds = 276.000 FPS
1375 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.000 FPS
1366 frames in 5.0 seconds = 273.200 FPS
1364 frames in 5.0 seconds = 272.800 FPS
1376 frames in 5.0 seconds = 275.200 FPS
1391 frames in 5.0 seconds = 278.200 FPS
although i have added config Option "NoLogo" "1" the nvidia logo doesn't show up. (i have also tried nologo 0!!!)

xdpyinfo doesn't show all the needed modules.

Code:
 0 16:05:54 sammy@uranos:~ $ xdpyinfo | grep -i glx
    GLX
    NV-GLX
What else can i do??

thx

Hmmm, it appears you don't have nvidia-GLX running.

my running of that command produces:
Quote:
xdpyinfo | grep -i glx
GLX
NV-GLX
NVIDIA-GLX
Of course, I think for both of us that we probably don't want nv-glx showing up at all...

Anyone more conversant in nVidia drivers want to respond to this???

Well, if it was installed properly you would have got over 1000 fps, this is my fps with PowerColor Radeon 9800 PRO

Code:
debian:/home/dest# glxgears
20572 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4114.400 FPS
23397 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4679.400 FPS
24160 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4832.000 FPS
24297 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4859.400 FPS
24126 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4825.200 FPS
24190 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4838.000 FPS
24003 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4800.600 FPS
23675 frames in 5.0 seconds = 4735.000 FPS

Unhappy

well, my card has GeForce2 MX/MX 400 chipset. so its not the fastes...
but 280fps is really slow.

Code:
 0 16:24:41 root@uranos:~ $ modinfo nvidia && uname -va
license: NVIDIA
vermagic: 2.6.4-rc3 preempt K7 gcc-3.2
depends:
Linux uranos 2.6.4-rc3 #7 Wed Mar 10 19:13:45 CET 2004 i686 unknown unknown GNU/Linux
so thats right to, why does this nvidia don't show up. If remove the option NoLogo per default the logo should show up, but nothing happens

yes the installer itself recognizes that there's already an installation and uninstalles the old installation first, afterwards it continues installing. the libs have the right version number

When all else fails, fsck me. Anyway, let me examine the stuff.... To put it simply, it's as if you are not initilising the glx module within the XF86Config file. With that being said, please post the contents of the file.
