Yet another ATI TV-out problem

Yeah, i know there are loads of threads on this but I can't seem to find one relating to my problem.

I can clone my desktop without any problems but when I go to play a movie on the the TV all i get is black/blue screen inside VLAN Player, while the movie plays fine on the my monitor.

Any suggestions? I had this problem with windows for a while but the ATI tools supplied with the windows driver fixed it.

ATI Radeon 9700pro using s-video out.
