Alright, so far this forum has been a great help and has gotten me pretty far with installing my ati radeon card.. but I've seem to hit a wall.

I have done everything I was told to do with installing the fglrx drivers, they to work so far but any time I start a game such as tuxracer it freezes within the first 5 seconds.. I have to end up reseting my pc and I can't figure out why, I've tried it on 2 different distros, I was thinking maybe there is something I'm forgetting..

I have looked around and haven't found anything helpful so far, so I'd appreciate any input any of you may have. I have been using linux for about a year, but I have never really done anything too deep, I just used it as a basic desktop, so I am sort of a newbie when it comes to solving a problem like this..

Some info on my system:
cpu: Athlon 1800+
ram: 256mb pc2700
mobo: Asus A7V8X - KT400 chipset
Video: Sapphire ATI Radeon 9600 - fglrx 3.07.00 driver
Distro: SuSE 9.0 Professional
kernel: 2.4.21-166-athlon

Try passing the flag mem=nopentium to the kernel at boot.

I tired it, but no luck.. I'm running out of ideas trying to get this to work..
