xorg wacom driver removes touch-screen ability on HP Touchsmart tm2
I'm using HP Touchsmart as my laptop these days, but one issue I'm facing is that if I install the xorg wacom driver which allows me to configure the tablet interface, the touch screen ability is lost.
Without the xorg-wacom input driver the touch screen and the tablet interface works, but I am not longer able to configure the tablet pen interface to my needs. Also not having this wacom prevents me from configuring the tablet pen orientation when I need to flip the display. Is there anybody who has similar hardware who has got the Touchscreen to work with the xorg-input-wacom driver? Using Debian/wheezy unstable. |
This is for Ubuntu but maybe it'll help

@EDDY1, there is no wacomrotator package in Debian. Also the specific issue is about the xorg wacom driver affecting touchscreen is not addressed in that post. I am not sure how that user got the touch screen to work, but in my case, only if I remove the xorg wacom driver, touchscreen works. But in that case, I am not able to configure the tablet pen interface for screen rotation.
Sounds a bit odd and I must investigate what driver is used by the pen-tablet interface in the absence of xorg wacom. |
Have you tried "xinput" it 's recommended by wacom

Yes, xinput is installed. But I'm not sure in what way it would help to solve this issue. Anyway, for me the tablet interface is more important than touchscreen, but still I wanted to solve this issue, if it is possible...
