Anyone know any good links for tuning XFree86 4? Preferably something with some examples, definitions, etc. I'm looking to find out what enabling things like 'backing store' or 'save-under' will do performance wise, as well as how to actually do it (i.e. proper syntax).
You can get definitions and proper syntax from the man pages. They are linked on the xfree86 site which Aussie linked. You can also access them from the command line. Start with man XF86Config. Then, check the "See Also" references at the bottom of the page.
Check out all of those and you'll be oozing X info. from your ears.
