Xbuntu driver issue for ATI Sapphire R9 280x

Hi guys,

I'm in desperate need of help. I am trying to install the drivers for my ATI Sapphire R9 280x onto Xbuntu to use as a litecoin rig and am having major issues installing the drivers. I need assistance urgently and am willing to pay a generous BTC donation or cash donation to anyone who is genuinely interested in assisting.

Hi and welcome to LQ.

Your start here at LQ isn't too good:
- You're using a thread title that doesn't tell us anything (some won't even look at the post due to this).
- Do NOT offer money or any other incentive. If you do want to pay post here: LQ Job Marketplace. LQ itself uses volunteers to answer questions and an answer or follow-up might take a while.

Please read the LQ Rules.

About your problem: We need more detailed information. What have you tried, where are you stuck, which errors/warnings are you getting.

The R9 280x is a fairly new videocard that does not work reliably with any of the drivers in Ubuntu's repositories. You will need to use the latest Beta driver from AMD's website (yes, AMD, this is not an ATI card) to get that running, but even with that driver support from AMD for this card on Linux is sub-par.
