X-Video Extension: no adaptors present

I am trying to get X-Video extensions enabled. xvinfo reports:

Code:
X-Video Extension version 2.2
screen #0
 no adaptors present
The man page for my video driver (via) claims it supports "Xv video overlay extensions."

There are no errors in /var/log/Xorg.0.log. I see it loads via and also "(II) Loading extension XVideo." Everything seems OK.

I am using Fedora Core 3, kernel 2.6.9, and X.org 6.8.1. My video card is "01:00.0 VGA compatible controller: VIA Technologies, Inc. VT8378 [S3 UniChrome] Integrated Video (rev 01)."
