Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

X.org and DVI on Radeon 7200

I have installed SuSE 9.2 and Mandrake 10.1 in my IBM Netvista desktop. I don't seem to get X to work with DVI using the ATI AIW Radeon 7200 (Radeon QD).

Once I start X I get a msg on the Viewsonic VX715 LCD display stating "no signal" and after a while it drops power. I can switch back to text console and the monitor wakes up perfect.

I then switched back to D-SUB (analog) cable and now X works with both distros.

This configuration worked fine with SuSE 9.0 and Mandrake 10.0 with DVI, but they didn't have X.org to my knowing.

I checked ATI's drivers, but there don't seem to be drivers for 7200 series.

Have anyone had the DVI working with radeon 7200 (QD) and DVI with X.org. If so, how?

Pekka
