Having trouble installing a piece of hardware? Want to know if that peripheral is compatible with Linux?

Writing/copying to a CD-RW?

Is it possible to write or copy files to a mounted CD-RW disk the same way you can do it to floppy or zip-disk?

I use SuSE 8.1 Professional.
KDE Konquerer
HP CD-Writer 8200 series, USB 1.1 connection.

The disk mounts okay and I can access the files on the disk but not copy to the disk.
In fstab there are two lines of interest:
/dev/cdrom1 /media/cdrom1 auto rw,noauto,user,exec 0 0
/dev/sr0 /media/sr0 auto ro,noauto,user,exec 0 0 #HOTPLUG B3Fu AYySIcSgV+1
The first line was automatically created, when the system was originally configured, while the second line seems to be the actual fstab line in use.

My question is not about burning a CD but using a CD-RW disk in normal file management.

I appologize if this is not the correct forum but I see my question as a hardware problem.
