wpa_supplicant, atheros a5212, fedora core 6.

Hi people,

Just moved onto fedora core 6, now i have a working touchpad (woo) but i cannot for the life of me get wpa working.

I managed to get the madwifi driver installed and wpa_supplicant installed.

my wpa_supplicant.conf contains just one network with ssid as "any", encryption as "none" and a line disabled=1.

If i then open up wpa_gui and select my network then let it associate, after that then in a terminal type dhclient i will be connected and working.

One problem i have is that my interface is ath0 but on boot it trys to bring up interface wifi0 and fails. (why wifi0?)

and if I

ifup ath0

I get:

"Determining IP information for wifi0........failed"

again, why wifi0?

I have just changed my wpa_supplicant.conf to include my ssid, and my psk in hex(?) not plain text format and also removed the disabled=1 line. As soon as I open wpa_gui on boot it says it's already connected, but i still have to run dhclient to get an IP address. determining ip information for wifi0 still fails at startup though.

Any way i can fix all this then set everything up so it will auto-roam between stored networks?

Thanks.
