woohoo keyboard and mouse problems

My friends found this weird.
I have an 80 gig harddrive with two partitions
-3 gigs belong to ubuntu
the rest Windows XP, for gaming purposes only.

I just moved my computer to a different room and hooked everything up.
When it boots up my keyboard is inactive although it has power and same for the mouse.
They keyboard is innactive untill ubuntu starts loading.
When its fully loaded the mouse doesnt work at all.
I tested my keyboard and mouse on another computer and they were fine.

how can i fix this?
keep in mind i cant get into my BIOS either.

Check the pins on the Keyboard and mouse plugs if they are PS 2, to make sure they are all straight. You may have bent one in the move.

just a start

Are the keyboard and mouse USB? If they are, you may not have the BIOS set for USB keyboard support and it won't work until the O/S loads the drivers.
