Unhappy Won't install drivers for RR2310 software raid card.

Hi All,

Trying to install drivers for Highpoint Technology's RR2310 RAID card as a data drive. Following the simple instructions from HT seems to go well. Typeing

sudo sh .install.sh

returns:

The disk you insert is for linux kernel 2.6
Update initrd file /boot/initrd.img-2.6.28-11-generic for 2.6.28-11-generic
Please reboot the system to use the new driver module.

When I reboot things are as before: no array; the individual drives are fdisked as singles with no partition table.

When I check uname -r, I see the Ubuntu 9.04 kernel is 2.6.31-19-generic.
In /boot there are initrd files 2.6.28... 11, 15, 16, & 17 and 2.6.31... 16, 17, 19 & 22.

The card BIOS shows the array is 'NORMAL' and lspci shows it also

Did you do as beginning on page 53 of the manual, at http://www.highpoint-tech.com/PDF/RR...ser_Manual.pdfsays? The don't look "simple" to me!

Is this double-posted?

I'm only installing as a data drive ("...with Windows already installed") avoiding boot system drive.

I don't think I double posted.

Didn't get any answers till now so I reposted at Ubuntu forums? Anyway it turns out I had several kernels and it was loading the driver to the wrong kernel. ...just like it said.
