WNA1000M wireless usb micro-adapter
 

I'm generally new to linux, but I've had puppy on-and-off for a couple of years and I've learned how to navigate it for the most part, and this is just something I haven't been able to figure out. I'm using Lucid Puppy 5.2.8 on my usb flash drive, and I have a wna1000m netgear wireless adapter. I have the micro-adapter plugged into one of my usb slots, and puppy doesn't seem to be detecting it. Do I need a certain driver for it? How do I teach my puppy to register this as a mode of internet connection so that i can finish the installation?

This one is your network device and the USB ID database is stating that it uses a Realtek RTL8188CUS chip, which should be supported by recent kernels. Sadly, Puppy 5.2.8 uses kernel 2.6.33.2. Try it with Puppy Linux 5.3.3, it uses the much newer 3.1.1.

sweet, thanks! i didn't realize i had an outdated version of puppy, i looked everywhere and the newest i could find was lupu5.2.8
