It looks like you already have the driver installed. wl is the name of the proprietary driver. Had a similar issue with openSuSE, and I gave up on that. I think it comes down to the kernel modules that are included with that distro. I see you have Ubuntu, Mint, and Arch installed. How does your WiFi work with those?

Doesn't look like your device is supported by the wl driver:
https://wiki.debian.org/wl#supported

I think you need the b43 driver:

See here for instructions (vanilla Debian, I don'k know how MX 14.3 handles it):

My Ferrari laptop uses that card. I run openSUSE, so things may not be exactly the same. I have the following packages installed: b43-firmware, b43-fwcutter, and b43legacy-firmware, I'm not sure they are all necessary. The fwcutter is as that package contains the command to install the firmware.

Having the packages is not the whole answer. Once the packages are there, you have to run
"/usr/sbin/install_bcm43xx_firmware" from a terminal as root. As soon as it runs, the card should activate. If you have a power switch for the card, you might cycle it once. If that doesn't work, try a reboot.

If you system is already assigning a driver that doesn't work, you will likely have to uninstall that driver before you install b43.

Good luck.
