Wireless USB adapter - D-Link DWA-160 Wireless N USB

Hey,

Does anyone know if D-Link DWA-160 Wireless N USB will work under ubuntu 10.04? Or 10.10 for that matter, as I'm about to upgrade.

According to http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Devices/USB, D-Link DWA 160 A1 will run fine with the driver ar9170.

So, does anyone know if this will work or not?
I'm thinking it will, but I'd like to be sure before i order it.

http://wireless.kernel.org/en/users/Drivers/ar9170

caveats

Before you can use the hardware, you have to get the the right firmware.

device driver

ar9170 will be part of the 2.6.31 kernel release but new updates (such as AVM Fritz support, and support for the one stage open source firmware) will be available until 2.6.32.

I would say yes it should work because Ubuntu 10.10 comes with Linux 2.6.35 kernel.

I for one have not tested it, but you should be able to get into Ubuntu and do an apt-get and have it search for the driver, if need be.

Will the DWA160 work with Natty Narwhal (Ubuntu 11.04)?
