wireless pcmcia problem- installing gigafast wf728-aex

Hello. I just tried to install a Gigafast Wireless Pcmcia WF728-AEX adapter.

here is some (possibly) useful info:

I am running Ultima 8.0.1 (Slack based) on Kernel 2.6.16.19.

does the kernel see the card and load a module

anyway, i'm probably going to give it to my uncle and sell that stupid laptop on ebay for parts... stupid laptop
