Wireless LAN

I have Fedora 6 on a Sony laptop. Everything worked after installation except the built-in WiFi. I need an RPM for the drivers for Intel PRO/Wireless LAN 2100 3B Mini PCI Adapter. Can you advise? I am a newbi. Also, is there a general "escape" or "reset" for Linux that gets out of a hung condition?

Wireless support has come a long way in Fedora since 6. You'll want to look into upgrading to AT LEAST 8 if not 9. In about a month, Fedora 10 will be coming out.

I agree that you should upgrade, providing your hardware can meet the minimum system requirements. Wireless has come a very long way in recent years. To answer your other question, the normal 3 finger salute works on Linux in most cases. You can also try ctl-alt-backspace, which restarts the x-server. It's very useful if you have graphics issues.

I too agree that you should up grade how ever remember that Fedora core six and seven End of Life Cycle so I'd recommend that you grab Ferdora Eight or Nine, or look at Ubuntu. IMHo ubntu is the best bet and espcially XUbuntu as you machine is rather old and would hand with Gnome \r KDE.

specifically, the drivers for Intel wireless cards are integrated with the Fedora 9 kernel and will work on boot, without you having to do anything. you can upgrade with an ISO pretty easily.
