Wireless Disconnect
Hey all, I have a atheros 5212 card with Suse 10.1. I have gotten it to work, but only when my laptop(IBM T60) is within a few feet of the wireless router. Anyone know what would cause such a strange happening?
check to see if there is interference from other wifi sources on the same or only one different channels.
run iwlist wlan0 scan to get an idea who is near, (wlan0 should be the name of your wifi device as shown in iwconfig)
I've been trying to figure this out as well. I, too, have a card with the 5212 chip. It's a Netgear double-108. I never cared if the "double-108" part worked, but I thought I would get more range than I do. I get about 20 feet of range and always a 30-40% connection strength.
