I hoped for more answers. But at least I tried the EDIMAX 7833UAC adapter and was really disappointed. Windows, Linux, everything it reached barely 50Mbps and did so only periodically - also the latency was bad. On internal wireless I reached easily 170MBps on all devices also on iPhone. Adapter was returned.
I just want a pretty recent wireless adapter that can be a solid companion with both Windows and Linux and do so with low latency and high throughput.
I think the panda is the next one I'm going to try. It seems the AC adapters are fairly new, untested and unstable - but I could be wrong if someone here could give in their experiences?
