winmodem - smartlink problem

Dear all,

I have a Fujitsu Amilo D 8830 laptop. I have installed Suse 9.2. Everything
works fine apart from the modem (SmartLink). I executed scanModem and as
far as I understand my modem chip set info is
vendor: 24c6,
device: 8086,
type: ICH4.

Next I downloaded the slmodem.2.9.10 driver from the smartlink site (the
latest release). After the driver installation I tried to connect my
modem...but it failed. Did I download the correct driver?

Thank you in advanced,

barthol
