i want to buy a memory card reader but i dont know if it will be supported by ubuntu

Well, the link says supported by linux 2.4 or higher. You don't believe them?

Not sure about automounting and so on with these things. You might have to manually mount/unmount the device.

I have a multicard reader in my PC case. It reads CF but not SD for some reason. I can read SD with a simple SD to USB adapter tho'.
