will d-linkUSB wireless work on Zenwalk?

I have an old IBM 600E PII laptop that I had in my closet from years ago and brought it out because my grandfather would like to use it while on vacation for e-mailing and such. There was a version of Win NT on it but as with most windows systems, from years of use it was nothing but corrupt and pretty much inoperable, so I decided to install the Zenwalk distro on it as it seemed most fit to operate best on such an old system. My question is if I can use for example a d-link wireless-g USB adapter for this computer with that installed distro? Would it maybe be better to install a wireless card instead? Any input would be much appreciated.

Chris

Hi,

It depends on the chip you want to use, if ahteros, read http://madwifi.org/wiki/Requirements

D-link usually uses several differnt chip under same name. If other chips, find some other source (HCL and network forum)

Happy Penguins!
